Content Management (CMS)

Back to category list

Can I update the website myself?

Yes, we are able to provide a Content Management System; a tool that allows you to log onto your website and change words, images, add pages and much, much more!

And it's simple too - if you can write a Microsoft Word document, then editing your website will be a familiar experience. We offer a training session, online help files are available and if you're struggling you can give us a call or arrange a repeat training session.

Who owns the website Content Management System?

You, assuming you bought one when we produced your website. The management system (CMS) is then an integral part of your website. The initial charge you pay covers your use of the system indefinitely.

If you were to choose to leave us, we'd cry. But you can take the CMS with you if you wish. Setting the system up on another hosting system (i.e. the server) needs some specialist knowledge, but it's not rocket-science, so a capable developer would be able to do that.

If you needed our support to set this up on an external web server, we would need to charge for our time; most servers have a slightly different setup and this can be a little effort on our part :)

Note that the resale of the management system is not permitted - the intellectual property of the system and its code is owned by SCK Web Works Ltd, UK and is sold on a licence-basis.
