Hobbit Premiere in Wellington
Cast and crew of the long-awaited epic "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" have arrived in Wellington ahead of Wednesday's World premiere. Many famous faces were seen emerging from an Hobbit-themed Air New Zealand Boeing 777.
Among those spotted arriving were Elijah Wood, Andy Serkis, Richard Armitage, Martin Freeman, Royd Tolkien (JRR's great grandson) and Sir Peter Jackson himself.
With Hobbit fever in full effect in the city, hundreds of fans had arrived to attend a pre-premier costume party on Monday evening - and were shocked and excited to see Peter Jackson and Elijah Wood in attendance. Peter explained that he had just arrived from the studio where finishing touches to the film's sound mix were being made.
