Carterton Daffodil Festival 2014
Carterton Daffodil Festival on Sunday 14 September 2014 9.00 am to 3.30 pm.
Carterton's popular Daffodil Festival returns for another year, offering an range of activities ranging from the Daffodil picking at Middlerun, markets on High Street and Holloway plus the Great Wai Art sale in the Events Centre.
The festival's dozens of stalls feature local crafts and art, along with children's entertainment. And don't forget the traditional outing to pick daffodils at Middle Run, a historic property at Gladstone. Buses leave from beside the fire station, near Carrington Park from 10.30am. A small fee is charged to pick the daffodils with all proceeds going to the locale charities.
This year's Festival also sees the welcome return of the Daffodil Express, an historic steam train that brings visitors from Wellington. The train departs Wellington and arrives around 10.30am. There will also be a chance to enjoy a short ride on the Daffodil Express between Carterton and Masterton.
The Festival is organised by the Carterton District Council and proudly supported by the Carterton Lions Club.
